It is really noticeable to a London viewer like myself when they do the program from Tunbridge Wells due to no HD. It looks horrible, but not for much longer as it will be getting an upgrade soon.
I know this is a bit far fetched and hasn’t happened before, but with BBC News at Six/Ten production teams now merged with BBC London could they not have got Huw to do it if they were short of a presenter?

It would make sense to me. Even if Huw wasn't available to do a bulletin, I'm sure there's a plethora of presenters in NBH that would be able to to do the London news.
South East Today is one of the worst looking regions on screen. That set has been re-hashed so many times that it just looks terrible. It's certainly not helped by the dire picture quality and non-animating astons.

I'm not sure those last two posts are particularly based in the realms of reality...

Considering nearly every correspondent gets a turn at reading the news on BBC London, it was Wendy Hurrell's debut today.

Nice!
Nothing beats the original music from London Tonight. One of the best news themes ever made IMO.

Can anyone confirm if they are seeing BBC London in HD yet?
Bonkers that the iPlayer streams will be the last to receive the HD upgrade.

Regarding the iPlayer streams, one issue I've found is that when I'm watching BBC One South HD on Freesat, pressing green to restart the programme now streams in quite poor SD, because it's pointing to the South stream which hasn't been upgraded yet. Back when it was 'network' BBC One HD, pressing green would give you the HD stream. Hopefully they can fix that soon-ish.

I wonder if BBC London are trialing Luxmy Gopal as a heir apparent for Riz Lateef who seems to rarely be on the bulletin these days, but is on Radio London every Friday morning.
