Channel 4 is broadcasting a special 60 minute documentary this Christmas to mark the 40th anniversary of The Snowman.
The first broadcast is at 5pm on Saturday 17 December.

Hope they play the version with the original and haunting introduction by Raymond Briggs and not the dire David Bowie one.

They last showed the cropped version in 2012 (with the Mel Smith/Father Christmas intro), so I doubt they’ll go back to it after originally reverting to 4:3.
