I don’t think they are using cameras that travel, the Failbox’s setup certainly used their rather old Thomson cameras.

It may be the upscaling is helping in the picture quality?

Well 720x576 was the SD format now it will be 1024x576 then upscaled from here, coupled with the better lighting and improved bitrate must be all factors.

The weather studio must have been upgraded as previous the chromakey was not that good you could see the ant effect top left.

I really wish he wouldn’t wink at the end of his bulletins. He obviously thinks it’s ‘his thing’, but unlike with Michael Buerk or Ann Robinson, it just comes across as a bit creepy.

Agreed, Vicky Locklyn (sp) used to do it on Calendar as well. The first time I saw it I thought she was having a stroke...

Sets and HD upgrades are being done separately, so when Look North returns to the main studio, it'll still be in Vaseline SD quality.
