I think they got in trouble as they were essentially turning their prodcaps into ads with that ‘RIGHT CONTENT RIGHT NOW’ slogan being burnt into the logo

I remember it initially had the strapline, ‘Right Content, Right Now’ which swiftly had to be removed, as it was considered to be an advertisement. I’m not sure if it was at that point that the animation was dropped or if there was a non-strapline version used.

So new logo it is then......I wonder if the new logo is going to be radically different from the classic ITN logo or not

They kept the animation until the endcap was dropped with the rebrand in 2013.

I’m sure initially with the slogan it was much more of a crazy animation than later

How long did the slogan which reads "Right Content, Right Now" last? Was it for a short time in June 2006 before it was eventually replaced by "An ITN Production" instead?

ITV doesn't own ITN, although they do have a 40% shareholding. They just commission them to provide their news programmes.

Gamal Fahnbulleh is presenting the News At Ten tonight, I think for the first time.

To my knowledge it was his first last night.

Gamal is a great credit to both Granada Reports and the National ITV News.
