The CW taken over by Nexstar

Well, KAUT is an independent and KRON is (was) a MyNetworkTV affiliate/subscriber, as it is the case of WPHL and WTTA. And what a better opportunity to Nexstar to make them full-time CW O&Os... Just kidding, I might have some reason, but all of this is a mess:

This is all becoming a tad confusing. So those soon to be CW O&Os are keeping local branding, such as PHL 17 in Philly?

I though the MyTV branded My DRC was bad enough! (WDRC Raleigh)

WTOG is now Tampa Bay 44. They've changed their Facebook profile and banner, while promos bearing the new name are now on air:

Most likely keeping their branding.  Alot of CW stations don't go by CW number or location. Many of the former Tribune ones that are owned by Nexstar really don't. WPIX is just PIX 11, KWGN is Colorado's Own Channel 2, etc.  KTLA never used the CW branding and WGN didn't either when they were with it.   KRON 4 is a more well known name calling it CW 4 would probably not work there, some with PHL 17.  Freedom 43, on the other hand, I'm surprised that branding is still around.

Even many of WPCH's local programming however is blacked out in that country, with paid programming and off-network repeats filling these slots.
Surprisingly WPCH, not WATL, gets the affiliation, alongside other Gray stations:

Well this is something that I have never even imagined beyond my wildest dreams, I mean WPCH-TV has always been an independent station, it's the first superstation in US TV history........and now it's going to have a network affiliation for the first time! This is historic, but it makes me wonder of WPCH-TV will be allowed to keep it's superstation status because of this

That would mean Channel 17 in Atlanta would have its first ever affiliation in its history. Also that means goodbye to ANF at 9 pm.
