From this paragraph here, seems like it'll soon be carrying the CW, moving away from the digital subchannel on KFMB (CBS/Tegna):

From what I've seen, it seems Tegna's CW affiliation contract in San Diego doesn't expire until 2026.
They must have some sort of exit clause, it seems like a strange move for Nexstar to sit on a station for three years, unless it was their only chance to buy the station.
