My take is they wanted to use KPIX+ in order to imitate how Fox O&O KTVU brands its sister indie station KICU (KTVU Plus).

Back to programming and network news, during the Nexstar earnings call, Perry Sook himself compared The CW is "increasingly looking like Fox" citing the increased dependence on programming produced by indies, as well as some sports rights.
