Only 29% of people plan to watch the World Cup. Could be some very low ratings particularly if England and Wales don’t go very far.

I wouldn't say it's an "if", England rarely get very far, no matter how many times Sweet Caroline gets sung

RTE Sport also announced their press release for coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup today

Nothing too different from Euro 2020 apart from Darragh Maloney is only listed as a commentator rather than a presenter and George Hamilton is still listed but since the Euro 2020 Final George Hamilton has only done a couple of Ireland Men's Internationals, 1 match from the UEFA Champions League and mainly has been on Ireland Women or Ireland Under 21s.

Well in their last two major championships they got to the final and the semi-final and there has been plenty of quarter finals. Not that I expect they’ll do well this time, but your statement isn’t accurate.

And the only times since singing Sweet Caroline became a thing they got to a final and the women’s team won a tournament.

I did actually put a winking emoji on that post to show its not entirely serious nature, but it seems to have vanished.

Missed this the other day, the BBC promo for the World Cup. As downbeat as the most of the rest of the build-up is at the moment.

It could be the first trailers that simply encourage more people to not watch it. With no signs of hype growing much ratings will be low at the start and it will only be the events of the actual matches which could increase them.

Understand what was intended here but the final product is miserable. The delivery of the "it's the World Cup though" line is all wrong, flat as a pancake.

The icon transitions look great.

Telemundo’s World Cup coverage for Hispanic American audiences was announced Tuesday, in which they announced their massive production footprint, which is very huge for an event of such scale. The reason for this is due to the involvement of NBC Olympics (yep) in the production of the match coverage and overall programming, working alongside Telemundo’s own staff.

Telemundo is having three (yes, three) studios located in the Souq Waqif market in downtown Doha, where a wraparound studio in the Souq plaza with two large windows on the world with space for various broadcast positions will be complimented with two studios in the interior of the market: one second-floor enclosed studio and an open-air branded space. Additionally, Telemundo will have two separate positions in other areas of Doha: one next to the Fox studio at the West Bay Corniche, and another at the FIFA Fan Fest at the Al Bidda Park, both of which will be used for overarching entertainment programming. Additionally, Telemundo will get access to a stadium-side studio at the Lusail Stadium, which will be used during USA and Mexico matches played at the venue, as well as a space at the IBC at the Qatar National Convention Centre, to be used mostly for post-match debriefs with VAR referees. Telemundo Center in Miami will be also used for supplementary needs.

In part due to NBC Olympics’ involvement, the sets were designed by HD Studio, the partnership of Bryan Higgason, Paul Benson and Sid Wichienkuer, which has designed every NBC Olympics set since Rio 2016. HD Studio also did the Telemundo studio at the Red Square over in the last World Cup. Telemundo will also retain their excellent broadcast theme “Sueño de Campeones”, by Yoav Goren, which has been re-recorded at the Abbey Road Studios for the occasion.

Here are some renderings of how the sets look like:

Do we know yet if the BBC are actually going to be in Doha or are they just going to be in the VR studio in Salford for the majority of the World Cup?
