BBC Breakfast

Also a discussion on the transition away from SD-only regional programmes on BBC One.

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

This morning was supposed to be Ben Thompson and Nina Warhurst by the way according to Radio Times

not entirely sure what Ben brings to it apart from being familiar (and internal). Might have been more interesting and fresher if Richard Frediani had opened things up to some of those external names reported to have been auditioned last year to replace Dan.

It is thought to happen when changes to BBC News come into effect in early April.

Definitely won’t be early April.

Probably more like late May/early June

The only reason I can think it would be as late as June is the up coming deluge of major live events. Surely it would make more sense all round to move in before the Coronation, Eurovision and Elections?

Who were these "external names" reported to have been auditioned for Dan's replacement?

Surely in a situation where there are redundancies happening in one part of BBC News, any vacancy at Salford would be prioritised as a redeployment opportunity for somebody?

It might well be that any ‘external names’ were auditioned purely as a formality so that the Beeb could say they advertised the job properly.

I recon early May is when they will move into the new set.

Hard to judge from the images though.
