For those without Instagram - Chris posted a photo showing the "Revolve Controls" between Sport and Breakfast (presumably) for the new studio. Theory confirmed!

They should have thought of this when designing the Mega desk in B! A truly expanding and revolving desk.

I thought the point of the 'mega desk' extension in B was just to provide a symmetrical shape within which to contain the additional information screen module for the presenter in front of the desk.

They didn't actually need the extra desk top space, or really use it: other than for perching Chris Mason at a 'COVID-esque' safe distance away from everyone else.

I would expect Sport to move in first, iron out any technical glitches for a couple of weeks, then wheel in Breakfast.

I'm not sure why, unless Breakfast are planning to have a chocolate fountain in the middle of the studio, or have installed a 'descending desk' which disappears into the floor at the end of the programme.

Aren't they still going to be using the same gallery at Quay House, so all the techincal bits are already in place or can be tested for the new studio during Sport bulletins?  Fewer people would see any necessary tinkering before the full transfer.

Can't they trial Breakfast during the times when Sport aren't using it.

Purple for a breakfast programme just made me think of Daybreak mk1 (2010, not 1983!).

EDIT: I'm not a fan of purples being used for breakfast time (or, at least not mid-dark shades of purple). I hope that Breakfast's purple is nearer the lavender/lilac/mauve end of the purple spectrum, rather than e.g. plum.

Will be interesting to see if this works, but no reason to think it immediately wouldn't - even if purple has usually been BBC News' colour of night. I presume that BBC Sport bulletins are moving to a yellow and red colour scheme, as per the graphics in the regions that have adopted the new set.
