ITV Channel Brand Refresh (15th November and Beyond)

Yes 7pm on a Friday is an opt-out slot for the nations if they want to use it.

STV already opt out for a regional show at 7pm on Fridays.

ITN records separate goodbyes for Scotland, Wales and/or NI, like so (thanks Andrew Wood):

These are played out at around 18:55. The nations also get a separate weather forecast.

Definitely just seen a new one at 6pm - swirling in from the side.

I think tonight was the first time I saw the “Next: Saturday Night Takeaway” graphic from the top left before the end credits of Catchphrase on ITV1.

They’re using another ‘Live’ DOG on SNT, this time it’s in the correct corner but the transparency doesn’t match the main ITV1 logo.

Is the Friday episode of ITV News pre-recorded then for Scotland, Wales & NI? Or just the end bit? Similar to what they do for co-location of regions like Tyne Tees/Border - only one of them are ‘live’ at one time and the other recorded as live about an hour before? Don’t know how they would do the split or is it just very clever technology? Haha!

No just the very end, you will notice there is a long BBC News/BBC World News style opt out pause at 7pm on Friday

“You’re watching ITV News, and there is more to come before Emmerdale……………….”

In England they carry on, in the nations they cut to a recording which consists of a quick promo for the regional programme and ending the programme

Peston currently has a LIVE DOG beneath the ITV1 logo. Is this the same as the one Saturday Night Takeaway were using? The transparency matches and it certainly looks convincing. Does anyone know if 'ITV1 LIVE' is all one DOG being added by the channel, or is the LIVE caption coming from the programme's gallery? I guess we'll be able to see when it appears on ITVX catch-up.

Edited to add - I'm now pretty sure it's just a cleverly designed graphic coming from the programme, based on its behaviour around a pre-rec'd interview. Sorry for waffling and wasting everyone's time!

It is pretty much identical to the one used for SNT.

The live DOG is added by the production gallery, as its the same dog that is being used on STV and the ones for SNT and DOI are also the same on Virgin Media One.
