A compilation of the new Romanian Antena 3 idents and bumpers since February.

Quite like the flat symbol - looks sharper than the 3D style:

Over in Greece, ERT launched its own news channel in March September (it's been in testing phase from March). This is their ident and opener:
youtu.be

Kind of a weak package IMO, considering they've done really nice work on their main channels previously (then following them up in festivals). Also the box next to the ERT logo doesn't look right either - when compared to its siblings, it looks more like an afterthought.

Canada's CTV News has fired its chief news anchor, Lisa LaFlamme, after 35 years at the network. She took over the role of presenting the network's flagship national newscast in 2011.

She broke the news to everyone on Twitter yesterday morning, her video has gathered over 3 million views, and thousands of angry responses directed at CTV.

Here's a video of the newscast's open from the same day (getting rid of the "...with Lisa LaFlamme" voiceover), and how the 3 national network TV newscasts in Canada covered the firing, with CTV unsurprisingly sugar coating the news.

VRT's new logo is now live and the 1pm Journaal was the first to use the new VRT NWS graphics.
Definitely a lot more rounder shapes.

The opening now comes with a VRT NWS logo animation and sound logo before the bulletin starts, which is probably to be used in all VRT NWS programmes such as Laat, Terzake and Pano.

VR graphics have come back for the presenter name, and the titles now feature the VRT NWS Journaal logo in a purple background with images of the day swooping down to the studio.

EDIT: Unfortunately, the weather graphics for Het Weer are still in the old corporate font and logos.

Also RTL's new Aktuell studio is finally ready and will be on air from 4th September.

Quite a nice departure from the usual blue. The rounded corners certainly give me a phone pop-up notification feeling, but that's a nice package afterall.

Over in Brazil, GloboNews has changed a new logo and graphics package in early- and mid-August respectively.

Here's their new channel ID:

So Terzake still has their current look over on Canvas, but their open now includes the new VRT NWS logo animation at the start.

And the new set is now on air:
youtu.be

Ta3, Slovakia, 2021. To celebrate the channel's 20th anniversary, they rebranded themselves with a numeral 3, which can be partially cut for various programmes:

youtu.be

10 Noticias, Canal Diez (América TV/Junín, Argentina). Following the station's rebrand in March, the newscast updated their graphic package and seemingly set, dropping the stock red blocks for a blue "10N" initials:

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask - why do Spanish media refer to members of the British royal family by translating their names?

The Queen was always referred to as Isabella II, her offspring as Carlos, Andrés, Eduardo, Ana. I thought it was just an outdated thing that was established 96 years ago, but there's an article referring to William and Harry as Guillermo and Enrique and Kate as Catalina. www.elmundo.es

They don't seem to do it for other British personalities like sports people.

The BBC refers to the Spanish royals with the same names they are known as at home, eg Juan Carlos, Felipe etc rather than translating www.bbc.co.uk

It's a convention to translate names of royals into Spanish, a practice that was once much wider amongst names in general. BBC Mundo translates to Carlos III, but doesn't translate William. The Spanish Wikipedia does translate William and his children, but doesn't attempt to translate Meghan, Archie, or Lilibet.
