Will Hogmanay be a mix of live and recorded? I guess they head out to the live firework display in Edinburgh as the only "live" element to the show

There was always a 'and now lets go to Edinburgh' when it was live anyway, As the live Hogmany was in Glasgow. So it being recorded shouldn't matter - it's not like they walk outside to watch them.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the first time the bells of Westminster were heard on New Year's Eve on the BBC.
Happy New Year everyone.

There is a great article about New Year's Eve broadcasting on the BBC here
www.bbc.co.uk
It was written in 2016, but still very interesting

Usual thing on S4C - pre-recorded compilation of Heno from 10pm till 12.05am.
At which point, they would closedown ASAP, but for the past couple of years, they’ve stuck on an extra programme - in this case, an Eisteddfod ‘legends’ gig with Dafydd Iwan filmed last year.
Come to think of it, they probably would have likely shown this year’s ‘legends’ gig instead, but for legal reasons - not related with the recent crises at S4C - they can’t (and there’s every chance it might never be broadcast again either)
On that note, Blwyddyn Newydd Dda.

Happy New Year everyone. Really glad to see the Rick Astley programme in 50i after the last few years of these types of programmes being 25p. Jools still not back to being 50i though. Maybe next year Jools?

Been really enjoying the Rick Astley concert, and the London fireworks were lovely too. Happy New Year to all of you, here's to more decent-middling TV presentation in 2024
