Not that I can tell, their idents aren't as old as RTÉ ONE's though, so if any channel needed a new lick of paint, it was ONE. I do find it odd they have ONE and 2 for channel names, why not keep them both numerals or words?

These feel very… temporary. Like a stopgap done on the cheap whilst they prepare something more drastic.
I hope so, because even the music is getting grating after 16 years of continuous use.

The soundtracks for the break filler (on both channels) on the Player feed are two of the most annoying things I have ever heard. (Ironically enough if you’re watching this feed you won’t see any of the idents, since they remove all presentation except for the said break filler).
But yeah, RTE One is desperately in need of a kick of paint, badly, so it’s good to see some movement in that front.

I believe the expression is
'lick of paint', unless you regularly indulge in violent activities with tins of emulsion, Rdd.

There is a special ident for RTÉ 2 as well but I’m not in a position to post it. Maybe someone else can.
