Couldn't decide which thread it would be better in, but here's the first sports bulletin from the new studio.
Quite liking the visual style, probably quite obvious it's come from the Sports side instead of the News side, quite intrigued to see how it expands to Sportsday later this evening, but the almost isometric type playing fields for each sport are really nice already, especially when used for backgrounds like the cricket ones.

They probably need to update the location graphic to red text on a white background.
Also is it me or does the live/locator graphic not line up anymore? The location seems to be a pixel or two lower?

The new colour draws attention to just how poor these graphics really are. The Nicky Campbell teal graphic on a maroon background doesn't work. The breaking news red is very difficult to look at. Where are the complementary colours? Where are the gradients? Where are the textures?
This BBC News package is so far behind Sky News, TalkTV, LBC and even GB News. The positioning and spacing looks wrong. It is somehow both cluttered and sparse at the same time. How can a set of graphics take up so much of the screen and yet present almost no useful information?
What's the point of spending millions of pounds on new national and breakfast studios when they can't get the basics right? Frankly, it's embarrassing.

The titles are nice - there's some thought behind them, they're cleverly done yet simple and make sense. As ever, BBC Sport seemingly managing something BBC News can't at the moment.

You're right.
While needlessly f**king about with the graphics for today's worthless design changes, they've managed to move the translucent black container for the location bug down very slightly so it no longer lines up properly...
...while also taking care to ensure that they didn't fix the misaligned text.
Got to love that BBC News attention to detail.

The strap is red on the News at One on the news channel for names/titles but remains transparent black on BBC One.
Why? Just why?

I wonder with different graphics they can claim that it is not a simulcast therefore original UK content on the UK feed. 🙄

It’s almost as if it’s a two-tier service now. Terrible channel, great BBC One.

I can’t think of a single change since the merger that has been positive
