BBC News Pres: Apr 2023 - Present (News Channel/BBC One)

Was only on screen for a moment before being replaced with the ever so helpful BBC NEWS BREAKING BREAKING graphic before being replaced with the US believes Israel was not responsible but now not clear what they are not responsible for 🤦🏼‍♂️

Even now it says IDF says…. Surely that should be IDF claims….

Come on BBC, you are supposed to be a world class broadcaster. Get your act together.
A return to the Two Line Straps would be helpful. I suspect had that been used, this wouldn't have been an issue.

This interesting piece of graphic appeared in the Washington studio during the 0400 bulletin last night... Potential sneak peek of new WNA graphics hmmm?

And yea, it consists of the three new BBC News' core values: red, circles, bland

Jo Coburn presenting tonight's by-election broadcast from the Westminster/Politics Live studio.

The usual Politics Live background looks quite nice in a dusk variant.

Kinda busy overnight for the BBC tonight... The by-election special is on BBC One only with the news channel flipper, rather than a custom election flipper, as if like there's a separate news channel stream.

The NC UK feed is with World on another special programme from Washington covering President Biden's primetime speech. According to the EPG, the NC will start simulcasting BBC One's coverage at 0200.

Had there been no by-elections tonight, would BBC1 have most likely simulcast Biden's address with NC and World?

The names are almost the same, only the final letter is different. Tongue Are we certain they invaded the right one in 2003?

In other news, does BBC Millbank have it's own gallery, or is it routed through one at NBH as an outside source?

Good to see what looks like a planned, full UK opt this morning on a day of UK heavy news, that's not relevant to World audiences given international events.

Question is, how long the UK opt is kept going today. The historic by-election results and Storm Babet are going to dominate UK news all day today. It won't be appropriate for the UK stream to rejoin the World feed again later and ignore these stories to roll with the Middle East as the only story again.

Edit: Looks like the UK opt is over already at 10:30am. Oh well, they gave it a go.

Yeah the news channel is great at covering world dominated stuff, but for UK stuff it is better to go to Sky News.

UK opted out again at 11:11. Hardly unusual for BBC News to wait that long to move on to the second story.
