- The graphics have likely been produced in-house, so carry little/no additional expense, and are part of a wider (and abnormally slow) rollout of new titles to all programmes, so wouldn't be a specific expense anyway.
- The 'new' graphics system will also be rolled out to UK output afterwards, so again not a case of US favouritism.
- World News America, as a specifically syndicated programme, also brings additional revenue to the channel.
Apologies does this mean new lower thirds to be first shown on WMA or just the system upgrade in the background?

As I remember it, Reeta was sent out to Ukraine just as it was starting to get difficult to travel into the country, so presented from Lviv (which is in western Ukraine). Clive, along with other BBC reporters and correspondents such as James Waterhouse and Lyse Doucet, was already in Kyiv which probably gave more of an “in the action feeling”.
I recall at the time, it wasn’t seen as a success. Whereas Clive always gives off the impression he’s literally just come off the front line to present the bulletin, Reeta seemed to be so distant from the action, she might as well not have been there
Nevertheless, Reeta’s reporting focused on the refugees fleeing the east and brought valuable insight to viewers. Along with Kasia Madera’s excellent reporting from the border with Poland.

For your information on this point, I've recently found out the new graphics for at least "BBC News Now" and "Across the UK" is created by this particular individual/agency/entity called "Rend". I'm not so sure if this is an external agency, a freelance individual or someone working in-house for BBC News...

...Let's just say Rend's other projects are way better than this design~

Ooh it’s better than their recent efforts this new WNA :-) no new lower thirds though and the flipper isn’t working.
Maybe that’s for later at 2pm maybe ?

Looking through, they clearly specialise somewhat in flat design with dynamic movement, so it does seem just like an odd dud project that somebody decided needed PowerPointy gradients added on top of. Even the BBC Verify graphics are much better quality than the Verified Live titles.

Any chance we in the UK could see it?
Volunteering. It's #GoodForYou!

To be honest I've lost hope, the only slightest thing I'm hoping for is the current WNA theme gets to be retained and not be replaced with the generic bulletin theme. Fingers crossed...
It WAS, in fact, a sneak peek! (apologies for not-so-great quality)
UPD. Here are a couple more screencaps from the long intro - instead of stars, it now consists of some American sights (and, inevitably, some red)
