During an interview in Breakfast this morning you could see E in the background, it looked like from a distance that the screen which was left hand side of the desk may have been replaced by a tower.

Hopefully once they're in E with a tower they can use the tower for some interviews/lives, instead of the split screen.

Studio D rather than Studio B for the lunchtime news on BBC One today, is that usual for the weekends?

No it isn't usual, although it did also happen on another occasion a few weekends ago. Must be routine maintenance again or something.

I'm certain that 10,000 people are not evacuated on a regular basis from their homes in a city, some for days on end.
Perhaps you can name another similar 'frequent' recent event?
It was the location of the UXB in a densely populated area that was the story, and the fact that it had to be moved out to sea for disposal. Not that it was 'just another bomb'.
Spotlight and the nationals have covered the story very well and with the appropriate importance.

Also extremely unusual for there to be a dedicated presenter for the lunchtime bulletin at the weekend.

And now we've got someone called Nicky Schiller presenting from C. Anyone heard of him?

He obviously forgot to check the opt out box when signing up here to avoid being conscripted to hosting BBC News.

Another by-election this Thursday, where the result is genuinely unknown due to the controversy over Labour's candidate.
There's no Politics Live special on BBC 2 on Friday due to Athletics coverage and no dedicated programming overnight showing on BBC 1.
So I guess another UK opt in back half hours overnight Thursday into Friday, and a one story UK opt on Friday morning?
There's potentially another by-election after this one in the coming weeks as well.
