Channel 4 of course were going to go down a different path for the coronation, there is a significant chunk of the population who aren't really interested in seeing a 74 year old immensely privileged man along with his 75 year old missus getting crowned in a publicly funded parade of ass kissing of the royals.
Channel 5 have probably the biggest stockpile of royal documentaries any channel can have to fill coronation day and beyond of they so wished.

How could you guess? I am not a fan of the royals anymore. While the Queen was alive, I really didn't have a problem, I liked her, as I do with the likes of Prince Edward who I feel is a man who has done his mother proud in recent years.
The rest, well no, I don't care. So it is nice to have a channel now fawning and cringing over the royals for once.

Channel 4 would never have covered the Coronation in a month of Sundays, though. It’s just not their thing. Plus their whole raison d’être is to provide an alternative to the other channels. I’d be more surprised if they
did show it.
As for me personally, I am not a royalist either but I will still be tuning in. It is an occasion, after all! First coronation in 70 years.

Well that answers that then since Holly & Phil are definitely nowhere near the coverage this time.

To be fair, they weren’t involved last time either.

Good to see possibly for the first time ever viewers relying on signing will have a choice of coverage. Interesting to the Audio Description is on ITV1 as when C4 have done it previously for the Paralympics they've done it on a different channel as they said they couldn't mix the main commentary with the AD commentary, although I guess technically it's not much different to have an English / Welsh feed.
