Was this similar to how alerts are sent in the US and Canada. And did foreign phones receive the alerts? Probably will be mentioned in a follow up reports.
Next is there a way to do this on TV at the transmitter level replacing all feeds with text similar to the US or an overlay in Canada. Or would the BBC and ITV for the transmitters need to do it at the playout level.
