Thing is that without any information about what's going on, the news channels have little to report. The main thing is that those in Nottingham know that there is an incident and disruption and of course their regional news and local radio will cover that.
Even eyewitnesses won't know what actually is going on, they'll see what happened outside their house but not the wider context. News channels have to be very careful in these circumstances
Problem is these days that a lack of information brings a lot of speculation which turns into misinformation online. There's always the idiots that immediately assume that because no one' s saying what's going on that it's suspect or a cover up. Actually it's just because the emergency services are just busy dealing with it and trying to work out what's going on themselves.
