Some inevitable disruption to the morning schedules in the next couple of weeks. Easy enough for the BBC to switch Breakfast to BBC2, though they lose the opt outs.

Odd though for ITV to lose GMB completely as rather than filling with The Chase at 8am would surely make more sense to drop Lorraine on those days and run GMB from 8-10. Quite surprised Phillipines v Switzerland at 6am on Friday morning isn't on ITV4.

Has the additional of womens football tournaments to the crown jewels list meant that they have to be on ITV1? Still frustrates that home nations games in the Rugby World Cup don't get the same protection as all- foreign encounters in the football equivalent.

It is poor that where the coverage ends at 8am ITV aren't bothering to get GMB to air for that hour.

There is only a Thursday (2 hour GMB) and Friday (full edition) the following week.

If anything that just shows how ridiculously overpriced the men's world cup rights are.

Is there logic as to what some games are on BBC 1 and some on BBC 2. It leads to a confusing situation with Breakfast sometimes on 1, sometimes on 2 and sometimes switching channels mid programme. Not sure what that means for opts as presumably Wales and Northern Ireland could opt out but no one else.

From looking at the schedule
early matches BBC One (so not to clash with sign zone and only replaces BBC News simulcast)
later matches BBC Two (so not to clash with Breakfast as regional news can't be on BBC Two and again only replacing BBC News simulcasts)
exceptions first match and England matches
and where they have back-to-back matches such as on Sunday 23rd, the second match is on BBC One
and the early match on Friday 21st is on BBC Two because of the BBC News by-election special

And they're going to find that broadcasters aren't going to find 40% more for the 40 extra matches in 2026, especially as the expansion makes the early stages less interesting.   If they want the Women's game getting equivalent coverage too budgets are going to have to balance out a bit - PSBs have traditionally budgeted for the big football tournaments every 2 years - they can't suddenly match those funds in odd years too.    Also why the idea of a Men's World Cup every 2 years should be a none starter too.

Wonder if you’ll get a clock on screen during that hour. You have to wonder if it’s a cheeky way to try and find out whether regular programming would work better for ITV in that morning slot.

Suspect the Express have got the "axed" stories for ITV daytime written already.
