Another nail in the coffin for the BBC News Channel as they’ve now just taken away their strongest ratings of the week

Would it not make more sense for Match Of The Day to be repeated on BBC Two, and leave Breakfast intact and in full on BBC One? Or is there some contractual obligation for MOTD to be on One?

If I watch Breakfast at weekends, I usually do it on the NC as there are no regional inserts. I can't see the point of it being simulcast anywhere else. During the summer recess of Parliament it's quite ridiculous that it's broadcast on THREE different BBC channels.

Did anyone notice a half second jump at around 8:56-8:57 this morning?
Edit: I watched it back on iplayer and it's not there. I was watching on Freeview.

If you caught it on the news channel it's perfectly normal. Every day at around 0855-0900 they switch TX from Salford to Gallery A (relaying Breakfast's feed) so that they can fade into the countdown and soft opt at 0859. When a gallery switch occurs, there is a half second jump on the image. This does not happen on BBC One.
On one Saturday weekend, Gallery C forgot to take down the flipper before going on air at 1000. At around 0955 the UK feed soft opted into Gallery C and we get to see the flipper just pop up out of the blue overlaying on top of Breakfast:
