The BBC Chameleon Thread

Looks like it, which makes sense. I'm surprised they aren't just using the BBC Kids branding for CBBC.

I think it is. Looks like a curvy version of Reith.

CBeebies looks ok and looks like they are keeping the bugs but CBBC looks boring. I hoping it will come to life on screen like the Nickelodeon logo does.

My guess is these might not be the final logos.

For CBBC, they should've at least had the letters in different colours - carried over from the current logo.

Though, the 1997 logo was boring too. Just a Gill Sans C in front of the BBC blocks. The yellow and black animations formed the main element of that branding, not the logo.

Here's the logos, taken from the BBC website.

Interesting CBBC logo. I thought they would update the current logo with the new blocks? CBeebies looks nice - the current yellow logo has been in use since 2002 so it was long overdue a update, and this new rounded Reith version looks fine to me

I for one am *shocked* that the Chameleon team have once again been making ad hoc changes to the initial plans with sub-par results.

I mean, that CBBC logo is the kind of thing that would have cropped up in a 1* rated Gallery post on TVF - particularly the idea that all you need to make something 'for children' is to use rounded lettering. Not just is it horrendously bland for the brand it is supposed to represent, but it is the worst of both worlds - by rounding off the lettering, they are already breaching the uniformity rule - so might as well have gone the whole hog and come up with something at least brand appropriate. If that is a genuine logo then, for all the missteps this project has taken so far, that is by far the biggest. Just dire.

Remember these are test pages - whilst I agree the CBeebies logo is believeable the CBBC logo looks just like a holding image to me. I hope.

I think I've seen those logos ON the Blue and the Purple Place, albeit with better colours and closer to the current branding.

There are also two versions of the CBeebies logo there - one with all the letters straight, and one with them at different angles. It’d seem odd for them both to end up in full use.

I believe the test page was how we discovered the previous CBBC logo though.
