Strictly - 2023

Owain off-of the weather and Radio 2 was heavily rumoured but hasn’t appeared. I wonder if he’s the back up.

Any predictions? I think Les Dennis will be a lot better than people think.

My top 3 prediction:
1st - Angela Scanlon
2nd - Les Dennis
3rd - Layton Williams

I think there’s something of the Caroline Flack about Angela and she’ll come across in the same way.

It seems like someone's found an old camcorder for the celebrity introductions, and they're determined to make use of it. It beats a filter though!

I was assuming they were going for the '90s vibe', which is apparently back in fashion. Is a slightly depressing reminder that I'm getting old to think the 90s were that long ago. There was a nice tribute to Len in the programme.

The 90s was my childhood, and that makes me feel very old now. I was 5 in 1990, so all of the 1990s was really the key part of my childhood as I hurtle towards turning 40 in 2025

Audio description available through the TV and iPlayer this year, although the iPlayer feed is currently showing highlights from Radio 2 in the Park and not Strictly.

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

Didn't they used to have a red button "commentary" channel with some of the ex-pros a few years ago?

The pre intro intro felt very Dancing On Ice style even down to the contestant name fonts!

It would be quite a nice touch with Angela Rippon appearing this series if they sneakily replaced Alan Dedicoat with Charles Nove to introduce one of her dances Wink

Regarding the pre-intro intro, I initially thought they had scrapped the usual titles & theme tune. I'm not sure it was needed as they showed everyone's name and then repeated the same process during the titles.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that.

A bit of a misfire, that idea.

It's as if they felt the show didn't already have enough padding. Was similar at the end with footage of the cast reacting to their title shot - something for online or It Takes Two rather than the main show surely.

A cold open with the opening pro dance would probably work better - then play the titles after that rather than the instant jump to live with the group number set removed.
