Christmas TV

That is an excellent consolidated rating for Doctor Who - initially 4.7 million overnight, and now around 7.5 million consolidated 7 day rating - this will annoy the Doctor Who haters, who wants to bet they will ignore this rating, nearly an extra 3 million rating for the show during Christmas week.

There seems to be a bit of data Thinkbox don't use compared to BARB - possibly viewing on non-TV devices - as the figures often have discrepancies. Usually on Thinkbox EastEnders fails to break into the top 20 but on BARB it does.

Some good performances outside of Christmas Day - noticeably Death in Paradise and the Agatha Christie drama. Just shows they could move one or two staples from the main day to elsewhere in the schedule without harming the audience, and perhaps something like Death in Paradise deserves a chance on the main day.

I suspect this year though will be mostly the same other than the removal of Ghosts, with Wallace and Gromit taking that half hour but earlier in the evening. Can't see that going out at 2.30pm.

Yeah, Thinkbox is TV only; it's usually posted before BARB.

With Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to be released soon, BBC1 are showing all four previous films, Afterlife appearing on Good Friday. Didn't think much of this one, not even scary or funny and felt like it was trying to be Stranger Things. Probably would have been better off written and directed by someone more suited to the genres and not just the previous director's son.

The most relatable review I saw of Afterlife was "If you thought Ghostbusters was too much silly fun and didn't take itself seriously enough then Ghostbusters Afterlife is the film you've, apparently, been waiting for"
