Further proof that working for GB News isn’t the career suicide some here would have you believe.

Depends on who. Same with CNEWS in France, a lot of the young reporters have moved up to more reputed and trusted news channels and even the flagship bulletins on the big 3 TV channels. On the other hand, those who've openly attacked the competition have admitted in interviews that they probably won't get a job elsewhere (nor do they really want to).

If you're an impartial broadcaster like Alice Porter or Rosie Wright and continuing to provide the same level of broadcasting you did elsewhere, then of course it isn't a problem. Alas Alice is moving to a news channel with a higher profile than GBN.

It's the opinion led presenters and commentators where they're going to find it an issue finding other broadcasting work.

For example, we haven't seen Talk TV poach Mercy Muroki and "commentators" Darren Grimes and Sophie Corcoran have found it hard to find other gigs since they left GB News, so in that instance, I would say it can be still toxic for certain talent after broadcasting on the channel.

Seeing as it's that time of year...

Do we know if Kay Burley is doing the Christmas morning shift this year? I know she didn't in 2019 or 2020 (the latter for reasons we all know about) and can't remember if she did it last Christmas. Would be a shame to see another Christmas tradition shattered... Wink

Without checking any schedules, I think she is. She was on a Christmas cooking show with Gordon, Gino and Fred where I'm nearly sure she confirmed she'd be doing it again this year. Happy to be proven wrong - I won't be up watching to check!

That show was made quite a few years ago, so it won’t be referring to this year.

I’ve just put it on and Dermot Murnaghan is presenting it this time.
