For those who missed this morning, Jayne Secker had to leave her Breakfast stint early due to losing her voice. Thankfully they had Samantha Washington to quickly take over before 8:30am.

Not related to Sky News per-se, but this could have implication for the selection of John Ryley's replacement, given this is happening in the Comcast corporate level... Noah Oppenheim, president of NBC News, has stepped down as part of a major reorganisation of the NBCUniversal News Group led by its CEO Cesar Conde, which involves the elimination of this post. Instead, three new posts have been created: editorial director, executive VP of Today and executive VP of NBC News Now and Nightly News.
Former New York Times deputy managing editor Rebecca Blumenstein has been hired as NBC News editorial director, with Libby Leist being promoted as executive VP, Today, and Janelle Rodriguez selected as executive VP of NBC News Now and Nightly News.
Rashida Jones remains in charge of MSNBC, KC Sullivan stays as CNBC chairperson and president, and Patsy Loris as VP of Noticias Telemundo.

Surely it's about time they rolled all of this into one organisation to allow better pooling of resources? One International News organisation, made up of Sky News (did TG24 etc move over? I know SNAU didn't..) with all the international elements of NBC News Group bolted on. Seems like its been connected but unconnected for quite a while now...

Just surprised by the international break filler currently played out on Sky News Intl featuring the old 2015 theme.

Was that just a one off error for the 8pm bulletin?

On a presentation issue, does anyone else get a juddery screen when sky news zooms into map graphics etc or is it just happening on the Virgin Media platform.

It's not just on Virgin, no. It's been like that for years.

With BBC News 24 effectively closing down, and new management for Sky News incoming, would it be too much to ask for some life to be added to the channel? There is a real window of opportunity for Sky here to really refresh Sky News and cement its place as the UK's premier news channel. I apologise to anyone reading this who works there, but at the moment it's about as visually engaging as watching paint dry. I know the orthodoxy there is 'no glamour, just the news', - but TV is a
visual medium. It should at least be more than the wallpaper on a screen that it is now.
I'm not saying go back to 2005 and have three presenters strutting around an aircraft hangar-turned-newsroom - god, no, that was totally the wrong approach, even if we here all loved it - but
please just make it look
good.

Sorry to sound pessimistic, but organisations tend to up their game in the face of stronger rather than weaker opposition. Sky can reap the benefits of the de facto closure of the BBC News Channel without having to do anything.
