That looks pretty good and looks like it’s been laid out for TV. It’s using the Final Score/Sportscene Results graphic style. It could do with some extra graphics to highlights which game the reporter is commentating from. The name doesn’t exactly scream football show but I guess it was something that seemed like a good idea at the time. It’s something that really doesn't work in telling you it’s a football show and the vague pun only works if you’re aware of that particular bit of broadcasting terminology. I suppose that matters more when trying to catch eyes on an EPG rather than on a radio station where you’d expect that kind of programming on a Saturday afternoon.
It’s a good use of resources though and an easy way to create a high value TV show at little extra cost.

So refreshing in the Boat Race coverage to have an event with nothing more than the clock on screen, letting the pictures tell the story rather than loads of unnecessary graphics with loads of stats which often detract from rather than add to the coverage.

Certainly more appealing (and better resourced?) than Football Pass, that’s for sure.

A crap name but at least it tells people it’s about football.

I think the name 'Open All Mics' is a literal description of the programme, with the reporters interrupting with goal alerts, rather than the presenter handing over to them like on Final Score or Soccer Saturday. I'd agree it's not the greatest name for a sports programme, but it's the subtitle of the show on radio, under the Sportsound brand.

It was a bit odd, because they often have more graphics popping up throughout the race - such as stroke rates, heart rate monitors etc. - but nothing today excpt for a time checks at landmark points. I guess there might be some technical issue, they had trouble speaking to their pundit on the umpire's boat a few times, and some VTs played prematurely (those two things probably are unrelated). I don't think there was much audio from the boats at all either - not sure the often bad language that has been picked up in previous editions has saw them give up, or whether there was some issue.

So after last week BBC NI did TV coverage of Ireland v Italy today on BBC 2 Northern Ireland but didn't do any TV coverage for the 2 Irish Cup Semi Finals at the weekend instead doing live streams on the iplayer, surprised especially the Friday Night Semi Final between Linfield and Glentoran. They do have a big game for the Irish Premiership title race on BBC 2 on Tuesday night however

TVR Sport is on the air at 7 last Saturday. This is their first continuity junction, with trailers that seem to point to their online portal instead:

Aside from telecasting the Paris Olympics, the channel is also making original programming, focusing on school matches, Olympics updates and general sports podcast.
