With the NFL Sunday Ticket deal with DIRECTV done and the new with YouTube TV about to kickoff, DIRECTV’s Red Zone Channel is no more.

For those wondering what the Red Zone Channel was, it was similarly themed to the NFL RedZone channel offered to cable operators and Dish Network. However, DIRECTV’s channel had existed since 2005 and it was produced in-house out of DIRECTV’s headquarters in El Segundo, California, with Rams radio announcer Andrew Siciliano serving as the channel’s host. It became joined in recent years by two complimentary channels; Short Cuts, which summarized games in a 30-minute format, and the Fantasy Zone Channel, produced from DIRECTV’s New York office, which mixed the Red Zone format with a fantasy football and sports betting perspective on the games, including live fan and studio guest commentary.

When NFL Sunday Ticket moves to YouTube TV, they will offer the NFL RedZone channel as a replacement.

Scott Hanson gave a name-check to Sicilliano and his version at the end of Redzone from NFL Network last night, an unusual thing for competitors to do (though worth noting that Sicilliano and Hanson’s day jobs are both with NFL Network, so they work together the rest of the week).

Of course they had the first match that resulted in the replay on Saturday and it wasn’t on ITV 1 either.

No Australian Open highlights on the BBC this year.
There will be "extended highlights" of the two singles finals on DMAX in the afternoon after they take place.

They clearly don't want people to find them then sticking them on DMAX rather than Quest. Notice with the snooker Home Nations now the FTA component has gone from afternoon live coverage to highlights at 4am in the morning, though think the final is still live.

The NI Open still had afternoon coverage but the Scottish & English tournaments didn't have any live on Quest apart from the Semi Finals & the Finals. Not surprising to see to be honest as they promised the Shootout would be on Quest and they haven't shown it since it moved from ITV4.
In other news talkSPORT gain rights to New Zealand v England matches for the next few years, the rights is for 2 tests in February 2023, 3 tests in December 2024 and a White Ball Series in 2025. The press release from talksport also states they have South Africa v England ODI series on 27th, 29th January and 1st February which I am not sure has been revealed.
