They did away with a traditional Thursday window that the European Challenge Cup (the rugby union one) had on a Thursday night when the competition went exclusive to BT (after the 2014-18 shared deal with Sky) for exactly that reason. It wouldn’t be unusual for Europa League (and Conference League these days) games to be on all four linear channels plus a couple of red button ones as well.
It’s a pity, it was the only exclusive slot the Challenge Cup had, and the competition went through a few years of little or no TV coverage in the group stages, until the recent deal with Viaplay/Premier.
