Makes sense to test others apart from Chris Boardman, as with his other commitments he can appear less often than he has in the past, and - despite still being a great co-commentator IMO - he has been retired for 20+ years. Chris missed the entirety of the Tour de France this year, with recently retired pros such as Marcel Kittel and (the pregnant rather than retired) Ellen van Dijk the second pundit with Gary Imlach and Pete Kennaugh on ITV 4. Speaking of the ITV cycling coverage, it was great to hear Ned Boulting deputise on the BBC coverage of the men's road race, he's a really good listen.
I am slightly surprised that Clare and Chris have been hosting from the mixed zone rather than the stands like they often have done. But Jill Douglas hasn't been available on Saturdays due to hosting Amazon's rugby coverage and will presumably be taking it easy a bit ahead of being in France for a month+ for ITV for the Rugby World Cup, so it makes sense to combine the presenter and interviewer roles.
