I've been at work for most of today, but did watch C5 opt into Sky's coverage at 8am (Sky having started their show at 7.30am) and there was the same audio issue that you describe then. No audio at all for the first minute or so - whilst Sky did have audio.

It's good for Sky to be seen as the 'host' of the coverage for anybody switching on, I guess, not C5 themselves.
Of course, the main match feed for ICC cricket events are provided by the ICC, and Sky (and all other worldwide broadcasters) take these - so it was only the wraparound that was Sky produced, not the match coverage or commentary.
