Very interesting that TNT Sports has promoted the opening Formula E weekend to have a lot of coverage on TNT Sports 1. It's good to see that the event will get more prominence that could help justify the move away from FTA TV.

Well, I say Channel 5 have new content at 8 - but I'm sure I've heard of a programme with the exact same premise before. Channel 5 would never do such a trick...

Sky Sports' strategy in general does come across as linear first, with a streaming approach like others hasn't really come to them yet. I've seen it happen quite a bit with Bundesliga coverage that kickoffs have been missed due to the preceding Scottish/EFL coverage overrunning or the 1430 Sunday match overunning (especially annoying when they have an ad break at 1629 ahead of the 1630 Sunday kickoff).
Comparing with the likes of Discovery+: each event has its own seperate stream. With their skiing coverage, each race gets a good 15 minute build-up on Discovery+ with the linear channel often joining the second race just ahead of race start. Not much has improved in my time watching Eurosport in recent years, but having a bit more surrounding coverage of the skiing due to Discovery+ streams has been one.
