I've seen it happen quite a bit with Bundesliga coverage that kickoffs have been missed due to the preceding Scottish/EFL coverage overrunning or the 1430 Sunday match overunning (especially annoying when they have an ad break at 1629 ahead of the 1630 Sunday kickoff).
Comparing with the likes of Discovery+: each event has its own seperate stream. With their skiing coverage, each race gets a good 15 minute build-up on Discovery+ with the linear channel often joining the second race just ahead of race start. Not much has improved in my time watching Eurosport in recent years, but having a bit more surrounding coverage of the skiing due to Discovery+ streams has been one.
Forgot to include and the edit time has expired...
This strategy will have to change in the short term with extra streaming needed with extra matches from the Super League and the EFL this year, and the Premier League next year, as well as the tennis which has launched with a limited and subpar offering.
