Any particular reason for this? RTE showing other live sport like rugby or something and done a subletting deal with VMTV. Or is it out of the normal rights cycle? Seems very random.

Trying to figure that one out. These are friendlies taking place on the same night as the European Qualifiers playoffs (still at this point part of the Euro 2024 cycle) and so should be part of the central sale and the rights so should be with RTE and Premier Sports. Or am I missing something?

RTE did have rights to the last Nations League and European Qualifying campaigns.

Perhaps the deal has expired. These are two unusual matches as the Republic of Ireland do not currently have a manager in place for them. Given this, perhaps RTÉ felt they could save a few bob by letting Virgin Media cover these matches.

Just a guess as the above said would it be RTE trying to save a few Euro ahead of broadcasting Euro 2024 and the Olympics

TNT Sports will broadcast the World Rugby sevens tour, SVNS, for the next two years. Uncoincidentally, the Olympic Sevens will also be on Discovery+ in a few months and France 15s captain Antoine Dupont (or NTN DPNT) makes his series debut this weekend.

It must be over five years since the Sevens series had a UK broadcaster (Sky in that case), instead only being available via the World Rugby Sevens app and website, and latterly on the new RugbyPass TV.

Amazon Prime Germany have copied Amazon Prime UK in including substitution indicators in their football broadcasts. Rare to see any variations of the official world feed graphics on the Champions League these days.

Prime Germany's UCL coverage is produced by S+V, so it may be the same person's influence.

I thought UEFA were pretty strict about the match graphics on UCL, so it'll be interesting to see if they stick around.
