Noah Lyles up in the studio for a bit tonight with a bit of punditry - pretty decent to be fair.

Quite a fact from Andrew Cotter that the only other broadcaster apart from the BBC to have a full studio at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow are the Polish broadcasters.
Obviously it's a smaller championships in terms of length and full participation, especially in an Olympic year, and it's probably more cost effective for other broadcasters to cover it from home (like the BBC have done a bit with thses in recent years). I guess others, like NBC and France TV have done, are only using commentators and a reporter. I don't think the German broadcasters are doing full coverage this week, but they usually present thier athletics coverage from the mixed zone.

I don't think that's too surprising - it's quite a minor event really and if it wasn't in the UK I doubt the BBC would be in the arena either, which is unlikely to have too many "studio" positions anyway. I think even for the main outdoor World Championships there aren't a huge number of broadcast "studios" available in the stadium itself - the BBC perhaps more the exception than the rule when it comes to hosting at the stadium.

Yeah, I completely agree. I'm trying to remember how the BBC covered last year's European Championships - I know they were mainly studio-based in the year's before, mainly because of COVID? I remember in 2016 when the event was on the US West coast in Portland, they had no studio presentation at all.
How are Virgin Media TV in Ireland covering Glasgow?

Last year's European Indoors was Gabby in the Salford studio for the evening sessions. Jeanette opened and closed the morning sessions from the mix zone
Pre COVID, I'm sure there was on-site studio presentation for Indoor Championships when in continental Europe. Would Belgrade European Indoors 2017 have been the last time for that, or would it have been even earlier?

When BBC Two left the live atheltics coverage at 1206, the iPlayer feed joined the world feed commentary of Rob Walker and Hannah England.

I didn’t watch much. From what I can tell they had a presenter on site but only to deliver bookending pieces to camera, otherwise it was the world feed. Not sure if they did anything special for events with Irish involvement.

TNT Sports are set to secure a two year deal to broadcast rugby's Autumn Internationals.
Unsurprisingly giving their lesser coverage last summer and their gaining of UCL rights, Amazon are not believed to be bidding. Apart from a few one-off games, this will be the first time BT/TNT will seriously air international rugby. Their coverage is usually quite good, and it shares many on-air talent with Amazon (and ITV and BBC), but the rise in cost for something that was primarily FTA six years is steep. All Welsh Champions Cup games are shown on S4C and TNT, so there is a hope there for Welsh viewers, but for the others the number of viewers and interest will surely be less.

Not sure if there are any clues about the new graphics in this explainer video about the changes in format in UEFA competitions from next season, but there are new logos for the Europa and Europa Conference League:
