It's a bit of a DOG's breakfast, isn't it?

Did Channel 4 just get someone to dial in channel 404 on a sky q box ?

I am guessing Sky told them it needed their channel logo on screen.

Northampton v Saracens. No doubt hoping to build on the live coverage of the Womens rugby world cup final this morning, as I write.

As I think has happened previously, they've got their own pres wrap around the World Feed; the WF match graphics are in BT Sport's house style.

I only remembered late, but a chance to see Viaplay UK’s match graphics today with the Barbarians v All Blacks XV (yes the All Blacks managing the art of bilocation with the first team playing Scotland on Prime Video at the same time). I think it’s getting a few repeats for those curious. It may not be their actual debut as they might have been used for Elite League ice hockey but not sure.

Off topic, but you may be interested to know, that in 1949, New Zealands top thirty players toured South Africa, and as three players were of Maori descent, the apartheid South Africa refused them entry. So, New Zealand invited Australia to tour New Zealand at the same time, including two tests (NZ played four in South Africa), allowing the three players to still earn caps. It meant that on 3rd September 1949, New Zealand fielded two separate XV's on the same day, for cap internationals, in different countries, and indeed continents. For the record, New Zealand lost both matches against Australia, and all four against South Africa!

Back on topic, and the BBC's first snooker of the year, and once again, the scorebar is being shown when the camera is not focusing on the full length table shot, as per last season.

Channel 4 were back at the Red Bull F1 Factory in Milton Keynes for their F1 coverage in Brazil this weekend.

Marc Webber was doing a small bit of product placement while he was on the Red Bull Simulator. It had featured him doing a drive of the Sao Paulo racetrack from the new F1 22 video game.

Steve Jones was also showing the new RB Powertrain factory on the Milton Keynes to the viewers in today's show.

Lee McKenzie was doing a 2 part interview with Christian Horner over the weekend as well.

The Channel 4 team will be on site for Abu Dhabi as usual for the final race of the F1 season next weekend.

Also on the BBC UK Snooker Championship coverage in York.

Why is the middle of the BBC Sport lower thirds showing the players match frames in light teal green rather than in Blue? Is that teal green going to become a feature of the other UK majors from early 2023?

I find the teal green on it to be a very poor effort.

It is way too light and garish for me to read on the screen. The Blue which was there before it was much better to read them.

A few days before the World Cup, the Latin American feed of DirecTV Sports was renamed to DSports:

It'd be pretty difficult to remove it if that was how it was supplied to Channel 4...

Unlikely. If they were doing that they would have had a commercial card so the pint glass would have been present like on news clips of sport events. I'm quite sure there was a proper circuit so c4 had talkback in sync to get in and out of the ad-hoc breaks cleanly.

I'm sure the Sky Sports bug would have been added by Channel 4 pres, would have been part of the deal.
