BBC Wales' football podcast Feast of Football will have a televised special after the news tonight.

To the match itself, and I've been mildly irritated that BBC Wales advertises that they have highlights and radio coverage on Thursday, but do not mention S4C's coverage, unlike with the rugby. I know S4C's rugby coverage is produced by BBC Wales so that is why they advertise it, but to the average viewer that will be lost.
Saying that, S4C usually do go quite strong on advertising their international football coverage online usually.
It's eight years to go now. In the previous bidding process, the hosts would usually be awarded seven years ahead (London 2012 was awaded in 2005, Rio 2016 in 2009 etc.), so it's no less time than normally would be expected.
Almost all of London's sporting infrastructure is still there and in use (unlike Rio or Athens) so they would be a sensible candidate. Ahmedabad, India, Jakarta, Indonesia, Doha, Qatar, Madrid, Spain and the Rhine-Rurr area of Germany were the other original candidates per Wikipedia. Germany, Spain and Qatar's sporting infrastructure would be primarially already there if they need to be brought back to the table again.
