Worth noting that BBC Wales for the second time in a week, yesterday failed to show the women's national team on linear TV. This time it was the rugby team, and with hindsight, was an absolutely excellent decision (Ireland winning by over 30 points). BBC iPlayer just took the world feed, with Virgin Media Ireland commentary.
Not sure how feasible it would have been to schedule it on BBC One or BBC Two Wales to be fair. BBC Two was showing live rugby league (that NI had opted out to show live GAA), and BBC One was into its primetime schedule, with Final Score, the news, Weakest Link and Bridge of Lies needing to have been dropped. That BBC One line-up wasn't the greatest line-up ever, but I guess they would have been popular enoough to mak that a hard decision. Same goes for BBC NI, though even harder to justify having opt-out sport on both channels. Once again, it looks like it wasn;t even shown on the linear Red Button channel.
