I said this in another place but I think they're going to have the chief presenters show up for the next while in the off-chance that something major happens, either in Israel-Gaza or just somewhere around the world
Funny how they could have the current missing presenters, still on pay-roll, slot in, but I won't claim to know what's going on behind the scenes

So was all that hype about them each having a program with their name on it now not happening and they’re just randomly across the week which makes all named programmes look even more daft. I never have understood how they expected 5 people to do it all. I

I think it's just temporary, during Gaza situation.
As for the other 5, their decision to challenge the choice of 5 chief presenters is what caused their own absence. They could have accepted the results and their new roles and everything would be fine.

I thought we we're meant to be approaching the end game over this (at least were supposed to be a month ago after the internal review on the treatment of the former NC presenters during the recruitment process).

It's more complicated than that. The roles on offer are not the same as they previously held with different pay & conditions. The BBC either has to persuade them to take the offer (by potentially changing it) or they will have to come to some kind of agreement for them to leave.
Until then... the situation rolls on.

Accepted the result? You are kidding aren't you.
The complaint is the legally mandated process was corrupted by prior decision making on winning candidates; and that issue has to be resolved on a fair and transparent way.
Everything isn't fine, and suggesting people give up their rights for sone nebulous benefit for an organisation is incredibly poor.

Just to be clear they wouldn’t have to come to any kind of agreement for them to leave and in line with any employer could in fact tell them they are redundant and that they will be given their contractual redundancy payment (or legal minimum if there is nothing in their contracts offering a greater amount).

The stuff coming from Washington is looking very good very polished dynamic camera movements, and that studio is very nice indeed, it’s a shame most of us UK viewers are asleep to appreciate it.

You cannot make someone redundant and give someone else the the role as that means the role was no longer redundant. Especially as there were questions over the original process and i would also say there are questions about the investigation of the original process as it was led by someone connected to the BBC board and as one successful candidate stated they were told they’d got a place and the investigation said they weren’t.
When you’re making someone redundant you’re saying the skills their job involves are no longer required. Well that would mean theyd be unable to employ anyone new to present.

Presumably a camera is out if action in studio B as a different camera is being used for the weather. It comes from the opposite angle and has the edge of the guest part of the desk in shot.
