That can be easily fixed by amending the Newsnight templates surely? Bet it takes months.

They went straight to Newsnight after a filler, leaving one to wonder where they will put announced Sports update.

That’s a good point, there is a sport headline (if you watch the Ten on the News Channel) and a spot for Sportsday on Huw’s wall of colleagues, but now no actual sports bulletin?

There isn't one until 0:45.
They have set themselves a trap with the timings between 22:00 and 0:00 - they are lucky that Newsnight very rarely starts on time.
What happens if they decide to extend the Ten or when there's over-running sport or other live event on BBC One?
They should put a sports update in after the Ten o'clock news, and show Newsnight on delay at 22:50. They can then drop the sports update if needed.

It really does feel like a World takeover of the NC with some token opt-outs as we saw this afternoon with the cupboard studio opt-out.
The UK version is basically a sub-opt of what was BBC World News and that's a shame.
If you like international news, great. If you want rolling UK news, Sky News it is.
