Seriously, I kinda understand why they would want to hide the new branding with the BBC WORLD NEWS strap previously, but this time they have the chameleon-lite BBC News logo... What on earth are they thinking??? Does the lower third contains sensitive words that they have to censor in the South Asia feed??? But China takes the Asia Pacific feed though...

Then The Powers that be need to make up their minds whether they are being used on screen or not-Sooner rather than later preferably.

The problem is do these presenters want to be stuck to the morning hours that aren't being covered by a "chief presenter" and then confined to the balcony for the rest of the day? At less pay too by the way.

The BBC still hasn't announced the whole lineup of these "presenter reporters", despite the channel now being launched.

It does seem to me that they could do with another core presenter or two, the only issue is if the BBC acknowledges this, will they again end up hiring someone more known to World News than the UK News Channel again?

And the other trouble is they can't keep "benching them" forever either-they either employed or they are not.

Why would they want to hide the new branding?

Some people a few pages back in this thread suggested that Indian regulators requires broadcasters to file paperwork about name changes but the BBC haven't did that, hence they censored the South Asia feed with the red BBC WORLD NEWS strap a week ago in attempt to hide any bit of new chameleon branding...

By the way if anyone's curious, the strap disappears during regional continuity. The trailers on the regional continuity is still sticking with the new branding. However, once they rejoin the core feed, it is censored again with the strap:

I'm not sure if this was mentioned last year, but it does sort of tie into recent discussions about recreating the 2008 graphics, but is the opening shot of the 2022-version of the title sequence not already a recreation? I just noticed earlier that the two cities that are given prominence in the cats cradle of the first shot are London and Edinburgh, where as they used to be Beijing and Madrid (or Johannesburg and Nairobi on the World version). Comparing like-for-like, it also appears there are some other minor changes to the shot (the 'sunray' etching is gone and the cats cradle changes colour depending on background) suggesting it was remade.

I can understand why only that shot was redone - it is less complex than the later remaining ones and the shot that 'featured' London and Edinburgh was removed (though it was already cut from the Ten title sequence). Little surprising, though, that they didn't take the opportunity to add Belfast and Cardiff to the cats cradle.

And those location names are all from the second scene, which was cut in the 2020 version of the Ten titles.



So… yes, the current News at One and weekend bulletin titles have two scenes with same location names…
