Eurovision coverage in one box, Pakistan in another with no sound. I take it this all went out on both domestic and World?

Yes, it was not an opt out, so it went on both feeds. They do this split screen thing when they are awaiting an update on some big story while still covering over things.

When Trump landed in Scotland they did it as well, having Sportsday and the rest on the left and silent footage of plane rolling in Scotland on the right.

Tuned in there - Ione Wells from Westminster quoting a spokesperson for the Prime Minister with the one-line strap showing 'Countdown to Eurovision'. Zero context. Had to check the website for what she was talking about.

Seems an odd decision going from two-line straps with context to one-liners that add little... yet are never off the screen.

It seems like E will do a few more weekends and overnights in its current state.

Today's Six went on with the non-fixed, weird frame rate titles.

Either they just mixed up or they might not have sufficiently long version of fixed ones - the bulletin started with Jane Hill in Liverpool so the globe had to continue spinning throughout all of the beeps.

I think the strap should provide some informative titles.

Currently it’s what it used to be on the first line - something like ‘NHS strikes’ or ‘Eurovision 2023’.

Unfortunately if it shows detailed headline like UK PM ‘disappointed’ by decision to bar Zelensky from Eurovision final, the text will be very tiny.

It’s obviously not ideal - hope this could be improved after the upcoming graphics overhaul.

If the straps aren't even going to be informative they should just scrap them completely.

Was it just a short dip out for Eurovision coverage? Seems very jarring if it went on for more than a few minutes with no indication on screen of what might be of interest to viewers on the live images of Islamabad (though presumably viewers would have worked out it had nothing to do with Eurovision).

Yes, it was just a regular story in the bulletin, after somewhat 10-15 minutes of Pakistan coverage.

At one point they indeed had an indication about what's going on in the right part of the screen as seen below, but most of the time they went without it.

They did not put it on when the one-liner for the current story was on.

The 10 today also goes with early April's version of titles.

Gareth Barlow did the BBC One lunchtime news today (with Jane Hill in Liverpool).

It’s a shame we are seeing very little of studio E, if anything they should have put Studio C out of action and make it look like B.
