International News Presentation: Past and Present

Here's the opening sequence to the 12:30pm edition of Noticias RCN, now called Noticias RCN: Pongámanos al día ("Let's catch up"):
www.youtube.com

Each edition of Noticias RCN now has its own unique name, and these are the other ones:
5:30am: Noticias RCN: A primera hora ("At first hour", "First (thing) in the morning")
7pm (main evening edition): Noticias RCN: La hora de todos ("Everyone's hour/time")
11:30pm: Noticias RCN: En conclusión ("In conclusion")

That reminds me of how Chile's Mega brands their Meganoticias bulletins:
- Meganoticias Amanece (early morning)
- Meganoticias Conecta (morning)
- Meganoticias Actualiza (midday)
- Meganoticias Prime (evening)
- Meganoticias Hora Cero (late night)

And also of how RCN branded their bulletins back in 1998 (when Canal RCN first signed on):
- RCN al mediodía (midday edition)
- El día en RCN (main evening edition)
- La noche en RCN (late edition)
- Telesucesos RCN (weekend editions)

IMO, the new music (retiring, after 25 years, its nine-note musical signature - compiled below) is a downgrade.

I'm watching Sky TG 24's livestream on YouTube, and it is suddenly showing a coverage of World Padel Tour in Spanish.

Edit: Coverage ended, but the stream is yet to rejoin Sky TG 24's normal programming.

Edit 2: Looks like the stream is about to show yet another padel match. By the way, is it like this on the traditional linear TV platforms in Italy too?

In Germany, the 2 main public broadcasting stations (ARD and ZDF) are expanding the lunchtime news magazine programme, 'Mittagsmagazin' by 2 hours from 2024:

www.ard.de

Currently under their respective charters, Das Erste (ARD's main station) and ZDF's main station are required to simulcast a joint broadcast, alternating between ARD and ZDF each week (currently this is the same for their morning show, 'Morganmagazin'). 'ARD Mittagsmagazin' is produced by RBB, based in Berlin, while 'ZDF Mittagsmagazin' is done in-house. Tagesschau24, ARD's rolling news channel, also carries both editions.

For anyone who can't understand German, a summary:

[*]The new format will see the Mittagsmagazin to move to 12pm two accommodate the two-hour format
[*]RBB will stop producing the ARD version of the show due to the crisis affecting the public broadcasting system in Germany, more on that later. From January, MDR will produce the show from its headquarters in Leipzig.
[*]The new format retains the alternating week scheme, but more collaboration between both broadcasters is expected
[*]The show will be more reliant on regional news and issues, with increased emphasis on environment topics

According to DWDL, the reason RBB is stopping production is due to the aftermath of the scandals affecting the Berlin broadcaster: summarised, former Director General Patricia Schlesinger, a former well-known ARD foreign correspondent, and who championed the move of the ARD Mima to Berlin, was asked to step down for reportedly using public funds to bankroll a lavish lifestyle and the controversial allocation of consultancy contracts. This has led to acting DG Katrin Vernau to start heavy budget cuts and a culture change to improve the broadcaster's reputation, including the cancellation of the construction of new headquarters in downtown Berlin. Ulrike Demmer is set to succeed Vernau in September.
