French TV - News Discussion

And here it is:

They attempted to do a TF1 for the DOG, but the result looks odd... Anyway, the graphics look very too simple and clean:

The new look was designed by Gédéon, according to this press release:

The way they do the voice-overs is very RMC and BFM Business.

Some presentation tweaks to Franceinfo's La Matinale that I noticed this morning.

The steady cam segements from the newsroom area have been axed. The intro was of Jean-Baptiste walking across the set to the desk.

The sofa is back! It's in use for the 8.20 interview which is now presented by Jean-Baptiste rather than the Eco chroniqueur. The sofa is also in use where the whole on-air team hand over to the 8.30 radio simulcast.

It appears Claire Sergent has replaced David Delos as Eco chroniqueuse, but has lost the interview segment, instead doing two-ways with Jean-Baptiste. Claire has been working on the morning show throughout the summer in a similar role.

Alix Dauge must be the longest serving member of the maintale team now? She continues her role as culture chroniqueuse, having starting on the bulletin on the touch screen with stats before moving to culture in 2021. She has also been given an additional role as presenter of the Making Art podcast for France.tv.

Alix Bouilhaguet (yes, there are two Alix's!) continues as political editor, Zohra Ben Miloud with the news and David Lefort on the touch screen.

I would have alternatively posted videos of each new change but I think that would have clogged up the thread.

Not the biggest fan of them doing the voiceover on the intro. Feel like it'd be nicer over a studio shot a bit how New Day used to do it over on CNN. There'll be a 360 degree camera on the new studio (just as there was on the old) so would be nice to have the voiceover whilst that is being used for a nice pan.

Yeah, it looks very forced, but the reason of this is simple: BFM Radio.

Speaking of new studio: the launch will happen next Monday.

An 'Au coeur du monde' sticker has replaced the 'Guerre en Ukraine' logo with the Ukrainian flag colors right by the Live Bug and clock. For those who expect heavy Ukraine coverage on LCI, rest assured that the detailed analysis of the war has not changed.

It appears the suppsoed joint Martin and Flore shift on Franceinfo didn't materalise. Martin started at 2pm and Flore was on at 5pm.

I like the curved astons of the new 13/20h, but the set would be great for East Midlands Today rather than a national news bulletin.

Franceinfo's new season seems to be a soft launch as they're clearly still in holiday mode for some parts of the schedule.

Lucie Chaumette presented the 23h bulletin which like the summer period was live for 30 minutes, then looped until the France 24 handover at midnight.

France 3 regions are also still in holiday mode with a solo presenter for both 12/13 and 19/20 before the rebrand to Ici next Monday.

Anything barring the Matinale (and some radio shows) on franceinfo is launching next Monday. A very franceinfo tradition!
