KAUT-TV (IND to The CW) (This affiliation switch from Sinclair's KOCB, which will become an independent station after this, is unrelated to CBS' decision to make it's affiliates independent stations)
The subchannel is the one used by Sinclair-MGM* diginet Comet (channel 4.2). This means a technical downgrade, as the subchannel is in SD (but it airs in widescreen). Comet programming is still airing outside The CW's networked schedule. BTW, all of this looks very temporary.

*A bit of off-topic: with the acquisition by Amazon, MGM had to sell its stake on Comet to Sinclair, although the Lion continues to provide the bulk of the network's schedule; however, since Sinclair took full control, they have added more shows from Disney Media Distribution and Universal Television, including The X-Files and Buffy.

If it looks very temporary then where is The CW going to go next? Because I've got no idea

Obviously it varies from market to market but it seems most have more than just the four main networks, CW and MyNetwork TV affiliate, with at least one further "independent station". The time is probably passed now to attempt to unite them into a 7th network, but feel like the potential is theoretically there.
Still wonder if the CW's fate may have been better had they been able to effectively make it CBS2, and certainly feel like MyNetworkTV being FOX2 would mean it is far more on the radar.

Though presumably having a network called something like CBS2 or FOX2 would be very confusing given that a lot of local stations brand themselves that way.
It's been interesting in the past to see how stations change name/affiliation, there must be some videos of this week's switches

In terms of direct switching that really didn't happen since it's not like a midnight the channel went from one thing to something else. Stations like WUPA started using their new brandings days before their official leaving the CW, WPHL started to use their new dog which is just their logo PHL 17 and the cw logo stuck next to it, the day before the switch so. It's more at 8pm or 7pm in OKC you'd have to see the CW on a different channel than the night before. Other stations changed the morning of the 1st
Here's WPHL's first night of the CW they had some glitches there that night (including seen at 7:13) You'll also see they are still using their PHL 17 branding because of course. The other thing is they added a small cw logo next to their blue box logo during programming on their on screen dog.

Here's WPSG-Philly without the CW branding now

Peach Tree is still called Peach Tree but they stuck the CW logo under their own logo during non CW programming

Here's KSTW with their new branding (some old branding slips through at times)

Thanks for those.
Interesting that WPSG was still promoting CW programmes right up until it switched to it's new name. It's effectively promoting shows that will appear on rival WPHL the next day isn't it?

Something which was not announced during the affiliation switch mess: Nexstar has taken the CW affiliation away from Scripps' statewide MTN (Montana Television Network). It has moved to Nexstar-owned KSVI, an ABC affiliate, displacing the Ion Mystery affiliation to subchannel 3 (bumping Bounce TV away), and operating under the master The CW Plus feed.

Almost 2 months after the switch, WADL has pulled CW programming off the station, as Nexstar allegedly hasn't pay the current management up after a 10-day ultimatum.

That's embarassing for Nexstar, makes me wonder where The CW is going in Detroit now
