Strictly - 2023

A cold open with the opening pro dance would probably work better - then play the titles after that rather than the instant jump to live with the group number set removed.

It's the sort of thing they do every year - an extended promotion for their social media content during the first live show - it's nothing new.

Is the theme music played live in the studio and overlayed on the titles?

It Takes Two returned tonight, and for some reason this year they've decided to butcher the main titles in order to make them shorter.

As with the main show, nothing about the ITT set has changed in the slightest, retaining the same core set it's had since Zoe Ball's first series over a decade ago - though it was expanded a few years ago after they moved studios.

Noticed the opening titles going at breakneck speed, was strange and seemed cheap/sloppy. Hopefully doesn't happen on the main shows.

I wonder why neither the main show or ITT hasn't changed set for 12/13 years now. To be fair, ITT has added to it's set with the extra seating area (think this happened around the time Rylan joined) but otherwise the same. The main show's set in particular looks tired now. Given that other versions of the show update their set every so often despite presumably having a lower budget than the BBC, it is odd. The George Lucas Stage that they use is surely big enough for them to have something more impressive.

Not perfect but a much better edit of the titles - the main show ones are far too long.

I've noticed that this week when the dancers go up to see Claudia they're not playing a clip from the couple's performance. They were still using clips during last week's show, which is something that was introduced in 2020.

It Takes Two is produced from their own small studio at BBC Elstree, across the road from the George Lucas Stage, their studio is called Studio M and is 2,500 Sq Ft, so a reasonable size for ITT.

Glad to see the end of the replay clips. Seeing a knackered celebrity struggle up the stairs is a major part of the show

The replays were only originally introduced as a bit of Covid-era padding, as there was no crowd allowed in Claudia's area.

I noticed on Strictly’s Instagram stories this week that they’ve started doing Kay Burley-style walk and talk videos for each couple on ITT that night

Meanwhile it does appear that the BBC have put the official SCD Twitter account out to pasture as it’s been inactive since the last reveal in August
