Plus Sunak has said the election will be next year. Not that a u-turn can ever be ruled out in politics.

Not wanting to campaign over Christmas is likely the main reason they won't be a January election. I think November at the latest.

The flipper writer must be really looking forward to the ITV BSL repeat after 11pm.

Have the BBC acknowledged the loss of their biggest news anchor as one the year's main headlines in any of their review programmes over Xmas, in particular, 'Review 2023: The Biggest Stories' which just aired?

But no unimaginative red circle animations, so I’m taking that as a Christmas gift.

According to reports online, footage (or at least the audio) of Huw announcing the Queen's death will be used in the Coronation year documentary program on BBC 1 tonight.
This will be the first time since early July that any archive footage of him has been aired on the BBC (aside from the Newswatch hiccup on Breakfast a few months ago), so a deal on his negotiated exit must be close.

I'm sure there was audio of him in the 2nd episode of the BBC2 Housing Crisis series in the Autumn
