Sky News

Just been an advert for an all new breakfast starting on the 15 January and will start from 6am. Looks like the studio is moving to the newsroom

I noticed in the press release that Gareth will start the show at 6, with Kay then during her usual 7-10am

Preview for the new breakfast show, giving a wider look at the new studio

Am I right in thinking that the previous studio is directly opposite them, just out of shot to everyone's right?

The main studio is camera-left of the new set. It's got a glass back, so you may sometimes see into it.

Politics Hub is also going to be coming from another studio from next week as confirmed by Sophy Ridge at the top of the show. She said they are revealing more Thursday.

It would be nice though to have a ToTH back and no immediate start of that show .

It's interesting to see the trajectory of the Breakfast show since Kay it took over - it'll have been 5 years this October - and how it's evolved

First there was the original look in old Millbank set with the orange lighting

Then after a stint in the Glass Box during the first lockdown, the move into the current Millbank studio saw Kay's allergy to sitting down return in full force

And then gradually from about early/mid-2022, more furniture was introduced to the breakfast show with various desk, sofa and coffee table combos

And now it's getting another revamp next week with the lovely new newsroom set

The new set really reminds me of 1990s Sky News - all it needs is a giant bank of monitors behind the presenters to complete the look! (don’t do it, I hasten to add!).
